25-06-2003: "Sobager!"

Sobager betekent goedemorgen. Alles goed bij jullie? Ik ben erg benieuwd naar afgelopen zondag in het zwembad. Was het leuk en was het druk?

Hier gaat nu alles zijn gangetje. Vandaag heb ik een officedag. De meeste tijd gaat dan zitten in personeelsaangelegenheden. Zo van: Ik moet uit mijn huis en kunnen jullie niet wat voor mij regelen. Ook zijn overuren hier een big issue. Iedereen maakt overtime. Ze beginnen rustig nog aan een reparatie om 15:00 uur aan een auto terwijl ze weten dan ie de volgende dag moet rijden. Ze hebben het geld gewoon heel hard nodig.

Bestellen van materialen is relatief maar weinig werk. Maar orders sluiten en checken wat we allemaal hebben ontvangen is wel lastig. Vooral omdat het vaak om spullen gaat die me echt helemaal niets zeggen. Allerlei medicamenten enzo.

Dus zo zie je maar weer ook hier in Afghanistan krijg ik een geregeld leven net als thuis haha.

Voor mij hier vliegen de dagen echt om. Ik ben alweer bijna twee weken weg! Aan de andere kant heb ik al zoveel meegemaakt dat het net is alsof ik al jaren van huis ben..... Geen heimwee en ook niet ziek dus ik geloof dat het allemaal wel gaat lukken.

Ik ben blij dattut zo goed met je gaat.
Er was hier een storing met de mail, wil je daarom weer een fijne meel sturen met je prachtige Badghis-adres
want dat zijn we hier weer kwijt. Gelukkig had ik al je briefjes al uitgeprint,want hier zijn ze uit m'n box verdwenen.
Hier alles goed. Morgen m'n
personeelsdag. We gaan fietsen langs het IJsselmeer
en zwemmen en eten bij de
zomerzotheid. In Grootebroek
krijgen we een nieuwe leraar
Engels, roetzwart en hij komt
uit Soedan. Hij doet wel aan Michael denken. Fijn voor ons witte schooltje!!!

I think that the Bible as literature should be a compulsory part of the national curriculum – you can’t understand English literature and culture without it.
